Do you completely accept the world for what it is or do you question the world around you? Are you passionate about something that brings meaning to your life, and do you ever think about why we are here, where did we come from, where are we going?
Well I think my description says a lot about the people I am drawn to. This will sound like an awful cliche but I think friendship comes before anything else, therefore I am looking for new friends do share some cultural experiences with (if you are close to me) or perhaps for stimulating debate. If I don't have rigid expectations then I'm less likely to be disappointed and more likely to be pleasantly surprised. Love can't be forced, anymore than friendship.
I was born and raised in London. I am mixed race Filipino/Italian which has given me a global outward looking perspective. I think of my self as unconventional, intelligent, a good conversationalist, empathetic, and I try to be helpful and conscientious. I am a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. I'm a bit of a dreamer but a realist by necessity. My main interests are philosophy, food, debating, film and cinema, and writers like Phillip K dick and William E Gibson. I love mountains, valleys, natural beauty and places of healing. I like most activities which allow me to broaden my horizons and meet interesting and eccentric characters. Whatever I end up doing it’s the company I’m in that matters the most...
I dream of a world free from the destructive shackles of capitalism and materialism, I am drawn to libertarian-socialism, direct-democracy, a sustainable future, permaculture. I admire art, literature, philosophy, music, poetry, nature, I detest bankers, the international finance system, capitalism, corporations, politicians.
I like people who question the world around them rather than just accepting the political, religious and cultural paradigms we are all raised to cultishly believe in. Because only by stripping away these appendages can we really know who we are as individuals, free from the social constructs designed to divide us along dogmatic and tribal fault-lines.
I am very much interested in the paradigm shift which I believe is occurring as we face (or refuse to face) the reality of climate change, peak oil, food/water/energy shortages, and the inevitable consequences of two centuries of massive population explosion and unsustainable reckless management of the Earth's resources. You don't have to agree with what I've written here but its who I am. I'm not trying to sound smarter than I really am - this is what I spend most of my time thinking about!
